Absolutely! We have a wide range of adult classes; some for beginners and others for those with plenty of prior experience. Drop us a message via the ‘READY TO JOIN US?’ page and we’ll be happy to discuss the classes that are best suited to you.
I used to dance when i was younger - right up to my teens. do you have any classes that are a little more advanced?
We do! We have an Advanced Adult Ballet class who work at a grade 5/6/inter level, an Advanced Adult Tap class who are working at a Bronze/grade 5/6/inter level and an Adult Modern class working at Grade 5. We also have Adult Ballet Fit, Adult Stretch and Adult Corner Work/Jazz classes containing students who are more experienced but those three classes are a perfect for mixed abilities and working at your own pace.
DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO TAKE EXAMS?
No. We encourage pupils to do so as it can benefit them in so many ways, but our exam curriculum is not compulsory. We would never push a child into a scenario they aren’t ready for or are uncomfortable with. Some higher level qualifications, though, can assist your child gaining a University place in later life. These, especially, are worth investigating as a parent.
HOW OFTEN DOES THE ACADEMY PERFORM FOR THE PUBLIC?
We try to put on an annual showcase which we call, ‘Jitterbugs’.
We hope that all students from the tinies to the adults will take part - it's a very special experience where you can demonstrate, alongside great friends, everything you have learned throughout the past year.
We also perform at local parades and galas and other performance opportunities as they pop up - the more the better!
MY CHILD HAS A DISABILITY. WHAT STEPS WILL THE ACADEMY TAKE TO ENSURE THEIR NEEDS ARE MET?
We are a fully inclusive school, and will work alongside the parent to ensure that every child is given the same pathway of progression.
WHAT DO I / MY CHILD NEED TO WEAR FOR MY / THEIR FIRST CLASS?
Red Rose Stage Academy encourages new students to wear comfortable clothing such as jogging bottoms / leggings / shorts and a t-shirt (a jumper may also be worn in the colder months).
You / they will participate in bare feet or trainers. Hair needs to be tied back off your / their face.
WILL I HAVE TO BUY UNIFORM?
We ask parents to buy uniform within a term of the child starting. We encourage this for health and safety reasons and also so your child feels included within the group. All uniform can be ordered via the Red Rose Stage Academy teachers.
Adult students are not required to purchase Red Rose Stage Academy branded clothing but must wear the correct shoes according to the class that they are taking and tie hair back and off the face due to health and safety regulations.

I/MY CHILD HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO ATTEND CLASSES FOR A FEW WEEKS. DO I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM?
You do I’m afraid. We have overheads that we have to cover such as staff wages, hall hire, class preparation time - all of which your small class fee covers. Your class fee also pays for your space within the class. If you do not pay your fees, we may give your place to another student.
IS THERE A PLACE TO WAIT WHILST MY CHILD IS IN CLASS?
We have a small reception area where you are welcome to wait whilst your child attends their class. Your teachers will be more than happy to provide you with a chair. Most of our parents wait in the car park or head on elsewhere whilst their child is in their class. Many make the most of the beautiful, picturesque walks that our stunning village boasts.
Am i able to come in and watch the class with my child?
I’m afraid not. As helpful as it may appear to be able to come and watch a class in progress, it can often put off or upset the children already in the class who then do not participate how they would usually, therefore not giving a fair representation of the session. If your child is considering joining Red Rose, we ask that they give are classes a try! We are always happy to offer a free trial so that they can get the fairest and best experience possible. Parent’s will get to see and experience the classes during our annual Family Week! See our BLOG page for some footage from our latest Family Week
(Family Week Blog from March 27th 2025)
MY CHILD ALREADY ATTENDS ANOTHER SCHOOL. CAN THEY COME TO YOU AS WELL?
The general etiquette amongst dance/theatre schools is that you only attend one. This is because each school might teach techniques in different ways. We also have no intention of stepping on the toes of other schools.
However, if we offer a class that they don’t, or if they offer a class that we don’t - we are more than happy with that! We just ask that you don’t wear our branded uniform to their school or theirs to ours.
Does my child need to bring any food/drink with them to class?
We ask that ALL students bring a bottle of water with them in a secure/spill-free bottle. When children are only attending a class or two there is no need for a snack but we understand that there are a couple of circumstances where children are attending for longer, in which case their teacher will allow for a quick snack break between classes. Please discuss this with the teacher before sending snacks with your child.
We also understand that some children might require a snack for medical reasons. This should be highlighted in your registration to the school.
